What journey is this?
There are times when our inner soil becomes worn down—amidst a social context that views existence as something to be exploited—and we simply need to rest, to recall the body's innate creativity, to envision possible futures and to discover other ways of inhabiting time.
The Solo retreat is a regenerative residency where we reconnect with the fertile grounds of our own humanity. We recalibrate the body through rest, nourishment, and practices—such as meditation, movement and art—conducted either in the studio or within the small woodland on our farm.
Over the course of three days, we create space for deep listening, a sense of safety for sensitive presence and time for connection. This residency is an invitation to somatic and eco-mythological practices that remind us our biology moves at the pace of the forest. It offers a chance to reposition ourselves amidst the poly-crises we are navigating, to embrace grief, to rediscover a sense of enchantment and to awaken other languages—such as dance and creative handwork.
What is the proposal?
It is an invitation to linger amidst a modernity that beckons us toward fleeting, superficial experiences. A pilgrimage to reach the river beneath the river, recalling the roots that sustain us and allowing us to remain mindful of what structures and nourishes our spirit.
It is an invitation to rest as a form of restoration in a culture that equates our identity with productivity. We inhabit the slow pace, the act of immersion and the languages of the body as a fertile path.
What makes us a biodiverse soil? How do we reforest the skin beneath the skin? This residency is a space to recall the gestures that nourish our daily lives and the practices that bring revitalization; to explore what we can create with our hands and bodies that enables us to carry on—embracing a biological time that differs vastly from the relentless, hurried pace we are constantly conditioned to accept.

Team
Nuno Miguel Teixeira
Integrative meditation teacher and researcher into breathwork and the holding of psycho-emotional landscapes; creator of the educational, therapeutic, and community projects Meditation House Porto and Ursa Parda.
For 15 years, he has been exploring potential pathways connecting meditation, breathwork, nervous system co-regulation and new ways of inhabiting the body, places, and relationships within modern societies. He facilitates practice groups and teacher training courses, circles for mindful and creative masculine presence, breathwork study groups and journeys dedicated to holding space for individual, community, and ecological grief. He co-created Ursa Parda as both an invitation to practice and a school situated in the native woodlands, stone, and waters of the Leça Valley, Porto—spaces designed to care the human-nature rift and weave together ways of returning to, belonging to, and caring for the land.
His work is grounded in an academic background in Economics and Sports Sciences, as well as a professional career in business management. He is the author of the books A Prova do José (Chiado, 2017) and Volição: a Vida como Meditação (Moonlight, 2026), both of which explore themes of social and cultural questioning.
Inês de Araújo e SIlva
A body educator, an eco-somatic movement teacher, and a researcher in artistic communication and bioregional land-based practices.
She is deeply attuned to the territories of her origins—Minho—and her current home—Douro Litoral—weaving connections with the ancestral heritage that defines the Iberian Peninsula, including matriarchal communities rooted in care and a sacred bond with the land.
She is a passionate creator of educational, therapeutic, and community projects that foster a return to ancient wisdom—embracing deep, ritualistic, artistic and medicinal relationships with the cosmology of the land. These initiatives serve as acts of collective resilience and offer a way to imagine new modes of inhabiting both the body and the earth amidst a modern culture defined by intersecting political, social, and cultural crises.
Artistic expression serves as a language of communal regeneration in her work, addressing a deeply individualized society while acknowledging the interdependence between humans and the more-than-human world, as well as the interplay of grief and enchantment in an era of vanishing wild biomes.

Inês and Nuno's hospitality at the Meditation House Porto was simply exceptional. Their mastery of meditation techniques is truly impressive. During my time there, they tailored my journey and curated a program that perfectly aligned with my requirements. We explored diverse meditation methods and practical strategies that seamlessly integrated into my everyday life. As I bid farewell, I felt rejuvenated – composed, centered, and authentically myself. This haven provides a true sanctuary for those in need of renewal and revitalization. I extend my heartfelt appreciation to Inês and Nuno for an unforgettable stay.

I was so grateful to have had the opportunity to do a meditation retreat with Inês and Nuno. From the moment I arrived, I could feel their care and commitment to making the time relaxing and enriching. There were moments of contemplation, movement, and solitude harmoniously organized. The meals were a true tasting experience. At the end of the retreat, I felt lighter. I loved it! I highly recommend it!

From the moment I arrived, I felt at peace and welcomed into their unique space with love. They went out of their way to be the most attentive and nurturing hosts, teachers and friends - more than I could ask for. I loved every detail of the journey and could see they put 100% of themselves into the smallest detail of my experience. This allowed me to focus on releasing focus and truly go within. The food was personally prepared by them which was both nourishing and delicious. Another aspect that I loved was their flexibility of their program to incorporate more of what I wanted to practice on, without judgement or resistance. I had ample time to myself between practices to reflect, write and relax. I stayed in their main house which had an amazing bath! Ines gifted me with rose petals from the property and Portuguese salt to enhance my water bath - thank you! Nuno was incredibly receptive to my inner intentions and several times provided meditation practices that mirrored my private thoughts - extremely intuitive, sensitive, and like magic. They create a very safe space to relax and enjoy the property while exploring myself deeply. I am American and their english was amazing so communication was easy! I had a fantastic journey with them and this was the reason I travelled 3500 miles from my home... and I would do it again!
