A profound journey of service to life

The foundation of the teacher training is: we exist to serve the world.

Human nature compels us to share what brings us joy and to nurture those around us. At some point, we feel an inner calling to give, contribute, and serve. This urge often stems from gratitude, prompting us to return the gifts we've received or accessed.

What is the basis?
Why to be a teacher?

When we practice an art we gain a deeper understanding of it once we begin teaching and sharing it with others. This applies to the art of meditation as well, where practicing a more present and mindful life becomes intertwined with how we understand and engage with the world. Teaching is as natural as living and emerges from within us as a creative act of care, involvement, and love.

Teaching meditation opens up new dimensions in how we relate to the practice and to life itself. It extends far beyond being a mere practitioner.

What is the proposal?

The foundational idea behind this course is: We are here to serve the world.

The training aims to create a sustainable journey where the participant actively experience teaching and living meditation. The course offers a practical and personal exploration of meditation through unlimited investigation, co-creation and relationship within a non-dogmatic setting and self transformational learning.

Over the nine months of training, the student-teachers will develop internal pathways to deepen their connection with themselves and the world. They will discover new ways to perceive life and teaching through meditation, honoring and embodying the meditative triad of truth, love, and freedom.

Through individual practices and regular assignments, the student is placed in the role of teacher as much as possible. This program supports and nurtures participants as meditation teachers from the very first breath and the first meditation under the premise: You are already a meditation teacher.

"My personal journey of awareness grew through meditation. As a conscious being, life revealed itself when I began teaching meditation."

Certified meditation teacher, Nuno leads weekly circles and workshops, meditation courses and teachers training, mentoring sessions and private retreats as a full time mission.

He recognizes and explores the teaching of meditation as a place of expansion for a mature, creative and free life. Nuno sought answers to his existential concerns in everything society promotes and offers, realizing that externally focused experiences are important but mostly fleeting. It was on the inner path that he found a return to the heart, to the essence of life, and to contact with the pure, vast, and limitless universe.

With a degree in Economics from the University of Porto, he expanded his training with NLP and Coaching international certification. Expanding his knowledge and growing as a Business Manager for several years, he also completed a Master's degree in Sports Science with a merit scholarship. Expanded his mission in the world with his book on human development "A Prova do José" (Chiado, 2017).

It was by exploring the infinite practices and currents of meditation that he delved deeper into his journey, becoming intimate and true to himself and the world.

Foster Hodge

This meditation teacher training with Meditation House Porto is much more than learning to guide others. It’s an invitation to show up each day as you are, go deeper with yourself, and share that honestly with others.

It asks a lot of you — there’s vulnerability, self-confrontation, and real discomfort. But it’s also a beautiful opportunity if you want to understand yourself better, deepen your practice and explore what it means to be truly present.

What makes it special is the container created by Nuno, Inês, the invited teachers, and the group itself. The collective support you build together holds you through the challenges and reminds you that this path isn’t meant to be walked alone. That support, combined with being surrounded by nature and immersed in the practice, is what changes you.

I left with more than teaching skills. I left with a deeper trust in myself and the practice, a rare thing to say yes to.

Testimonials

Patrícia Paquete

This course begins before the course. It begins when we say yes. After saying yes, I meditated like never before; my perspective changed, my heart changed. Then, already in the course, what we are asked to do is sustain the practice, that is, sustain the commitment we made to ourselves and to life. The entire structure and the approach of the various teachers (especially Nuno Ancora) demonstrate this: the commitment is to ourselves; the assignments are not an assessment, they are a commitment to ourselves. This is simultaneously liberating, responsible and empowering. The in-person phase is a dive, from which I have not yet emerged. Saying yes to this training was saying yes to life, and what I found throughout the process was surrender, generosity, and love anchored in a wonderful space, scented with magnolia.

This training was a transformative process in which the daily invitation was to be present: listening to myself, listening to others, listening to ourselves. It was a continuous awakening accompanied by the dynamics of life. I am very grateful to have completed this training with Meditation House.
