13 weeks of regenerative breathing

What is the proposal?

This is an invitation to 13 immersions centered on breath awareness. In each session, we will journey back to the organic rhythm of our biology, allowing the body to recall that primal resource for a sensitive connection to life: the breath. Together, we will navigate the transition from the warm season to the cold—a passage inviting us to shift from the outer to the inner, from linear time to deep time, while honoring the breath as a bodily presence, a foundation for nervous system co-regulation, and a source of grounding.

The work throughout the cycle will unfold gradually; we will complement the core Breathwork practice with meditation, writing, music, and movement, all within an intimate group setting built on sharing and mutual support.

What is Breathwork?

Breathwork is a technique of conscious, connected breathing—performed continuously and repetitively—that allows us to reach the most remote parts of our bodies with integrity, care, and permission. As a practice of liberation, Breathwork enables us to observe, feel, and untie the internal knots we carry as a result of past histories, relational traumas, or emotional wounds. As a technique involving conscious, constant-flow breathing, it grants access to renewed states of consciousness; therefore, it should be practiced with the guidance of an instructor and within a safe, comfortable space.

•
This breathwork cycle is for you if

Deepen the practice of conscious breathing as an anchor in your daily life

Learn to observe the breath rather than control it

Slow pacing to allow for a deep, rhythmic and effortless flow of breath

Resources to guide the nervous system toward a sense of safety

Awaken the body, open the breath, and let vital energy circulate

Release stucked traumatic energy at the body's own pace

This breathwork cycle essentially includes

An integrative meditation teacher and researcher into breathwork and the holding of psycho-emotional landscapes, he is the creator of the educational, therapeutic, and community-based projects Meditation House Porto and Ursa Parda.

For 15 years, he has explored the intersections of meditation, breathwork, nervous system co-regulation, and new ways of inhabiting the body, places, and relationships within modern society. He facilitates practice groups and teacher training courses, circles for mindful and creative masculine presence, breathwork study groups, and journeys dedicated to holding space for individual, community, and ecological grief. He co-created Ursa Parda as both a practice and a school set within native woodlands and the stone-and-water landscapes of the Leça Valley; it is a space designed to heal the rift between humans and nature and to weave together ways of returning to, belonging to, and caring for the land.

His work is grounded in an academic background in Economics and Sports Science, as well as a professional career in business management. He is the author of the books A Prova do José (Chiado, 2017) and Volição: a Vida como Meditação (Moonlight, 2026), both of which explore themes of social and cultural questioning.

Thank you Nuno and Inês! We learnt a lot from our time at the retreat, not only from the meditation activities but also from being in the presence of such insightful teachers. The house and food also exceeded any expectations!

Testimonials

Patrícia and João

When the student is ready, the teacher appears. Nothing about our retreat would be normal, starting with how we discovered and booked it only a week in advance, given our situation as a couple, going without knowing where we were going and arriving in torrential rain. If all this was a challenge for Nuno and Inês, we don't know. What they gave us was comfort, safeness, trust, attention to detail and love. The retreat wasn't a set of practices with a good soundtrack. It was an invitation to walk a path without knowing the final destination or what stations or stops we would pass through. After all, isn't this a definition of life as a couple? There's a moment before and a moment after for us as a couple: the retreat at Meditation House Porto. Although we feel that the invitation they extended to us still exists and that we, as a couple, can reclaim and relive it whenever we wish. Thank you, Nuno and Inês.
